BASD Pty Ltd ACN 686 091 001 (BASD, we, us) operates a subscription software platform for building and construction businesses. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains how we handle personal information.

1. Customer Data

Some information in the platform is uploaded by a subscribing business about its own clients, employees, contractors and suppliers (Customer Data). We hold and process it on that business's behalf and on its instructions, under our Terms of Service. If you believe a business holds information about you in BASD, contact that business, as it controls those records.

2. What we collect

Information you or your organisation provides, including your name, contact details, role and the records your organisation creates in the platform. Information collected automatically when the platform is used, including technical, device and activity information. We hold personal information electronically.

3. Why we collect it

To provide, operate, support and secure the platform; to authenticate you and communicate with you about it; to bill for the service; to improve the platform; and to meet our legal obligations.

4. Who we disclose it to

We disclose personal information to service providers who help us operate the platform, to third-party systems your organisation chooses to connect to the platform, to our professional advisers, and where we are required or authorised by law.

5. Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers may store or process personal information overseas, including in the United States.

6. Information received from Google APIs

BASD's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. If you sign in with Google, Google provides your basic profile information so we can create or match your BASD login. We use it only to provide and improve the platform, do not transfer it except to service providers who help us do so or as required by law, never use it for advertising, and never sell it. No person at BASD reads it except with your permission, to investigate a security incident, or where compelled by law.

7. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

8. Access, correction and complaints

You can ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong. Most account details can be corrected in the platform or by your organisation's administrator. For anything else, email hello@basd.com. We will respond within a reasonable period.

We may ask you to verify your identity before releasing any information, and we may charge a reasonable fee for the cost of providing a copy of it.

If you think we have breached the APPs, contact us at the address above. We will investigate and respond within a reasonable period. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is available at this address, with its effective date at the top.
